Summer Time

11 more days til move in day! I am so excited. :) Finals are over and summer has started. Brandon and I already have three trips planned this summer and will hopefully make a couple more happen. This first picture is a picture of my dad calling me from their trip in Hawaii. I had about an hour til one of my finals and he just made my day. :) He is such a goof. We were playing around with all of the funny gadgets you could use. My mom and Michael also joined in, even though they were in the same room as him. :)

Celebrating at Olive Garden after my last final...

With this good looking couple.

Brandon and I decided to take Jenny running from his parent's house to my parent's house and back. We had to walk quite a bit. She is out of shape. She's cute though. This is right before we are about to head back.

Maryanne went to Prom last weekend! I helped her get ready and she looked so pretty wearing the dress I wore for my senior prom.

I just had to throw this last one in. You know those cookies you get when you fly Delta? They are the best cookies ever! My parents know that Steph and I love them so they brought them back from their trip to Hawaii. It's too bad Steph is graduated now because she would bring them home for me after all of her track and cross country meets. :) These cookies alone are a good reason to fly Delta

Dogs

Greg brought his new dog Zoey over yesterday after his and Brandon's soccer game. She is so cute! Brandon kept wondering when I was going to be done taking pictures. We played in the backyard with them for a while (Zoey and Brandon's families dog Jenny) before we went in because it was freezing!

Cutest little eyebrows ever!

On the way out I had to take a picture of Zoey eating dog food off of the floor of Greg's car.

Our herb garden is sprouting! The parsley is growing much faster than the other ones...they all have little buds though.

Also, exciting news! We found a place to call home! We are moving on May 9th, back to Provo a few blocks from BYU. We are so excited! I'll post pics once we are all moved in and unpacked. Also, I am done with finals on Wednesday! This has felt like the longest semester to me. So excited for summer!

Life

Last week Brandon and I housesat for his parents and watched their dog Jenny. I think she has a crush on Brandon because she always runs to him before she ever comes to me. And he was on his mission when they got her. He always says that they missed him so much when he left, that two weeks later they replaced him with a dog. :) We took her on walks every night we were there which was so much fun. I love going on walks with my husband.
So funny story. Brandon and I invited Steph and Spencer over one of the nights to have a bonfire in the backyard. I brought two bags out, one had the marshmallows and chocolate in it, the other had the graham crackers. When Brandon asked me to hand him a marshmallow, I couldn't find the bag. I was sure I had brought them both out. I told him to go check inside the house and he came running back saying, "They were in Jenny's kennel!" She had snuck off with the whole bag without us noticing. It was pretty funny. She is so sneaky. She was just sitting by us looking so innocent too. :)

My iphone takes the worst night pictures but you can see how Jenny is under the chair arm rest just trying to steal all of Brandon's attention. He spoils her and gives her all the leftovers from our meals.

My aunt is having her baby in less than a week and a half! I am so excited for her and so upset that it is going to be in the middle of my finals but as soon as I finish I am headed up to see her and her baby boy. :) I took these pictures after her baby shower and thought I should share a couple because she is just too cute not to.

And yes, sometimes I still like to leave the marshmallows for last.

House Hunting Diaries

As some of you may know, Brandon and I have been living at my parents house while we look for a place to live. It has not been easy. While its not bad living there we miss having a place of our own. We have been pretty picky as we pick places to look at because we want to love our next place enough to stay there until we are both graduated. Plus, we have accumulated so much stuff since we have gotten married and moving is a PAIN. We have been looking for two bedrooms because we both have desks but are willing to go for a one bedroom if it is a decent size. The last few months we have actually been just looking at basically any apartment that looks even remotely okay and man has it been interesting. This is where I wish I had started my house hunting diaries. We have looked at the most interesting, sketchy places. Half of the time, we know we won't like it as soon as we see it but go along with it anyway and it has actually been a lot of fun to laugh at them later as we get in the car and drive off. Curse the people who don't post enough pictures for you to get a good idea of what it looks like before you go.
Last week Brandon and I went and looked at a basement apartment that we thought might be promising. As soon as we saw the stairs going down to it, we knew half of our stuff would never fit down there. Then the guy basically talked us out of ever wanting to live there. These are the things he said while he gave us the tour.

  • "Just so you guys know, there is no ac, but the winter's aren't bad."
  • "Here you have the kitchen, but there is only two outlets that aren't being used up by the fridge. We didn't think about that when we moved in." (As some of you know Brandon loves cooking and he needs his outlets. :) You don't want to unplug the microwave and toaster every time you need to use the blender or kitchen-aid)
  • "It took us a few hours to get our couch down those stairs. We had to take it apart and put it back together so we are selling it and leaving it here. Along with the hutch in the kitchen and the organizer that sits above the toilet." .....Well, we already have all of those things so are we going to be stuck with them?
  • "Here is the only closet in the house and it doesn't have a door."
  • "Oh and the landlord is raising the rent price." UGH.
That is what they are all telling us when we get there. Then put the new price online! Yesterday we went and looked at two apartments and the first one was also a basement apartment with even more narrow stairs and no sink in the bathroom....The second one we looked at yesterday we thought was on a main floor. We loved it when we walked in. It had a washer and dryer and then we turned the corner to see stairs going up. Very Narrow Stairs. It was an upstairs apartment. It was old and had a lot of character. I actually liked it but once again not much of what we own would fit up it. The tub had claw feet! So cool.
So, we are continuing to look. Hopefully we get lucky as more people are moving out for the summer and graduating. We have basically sworn off basement apartments in Provo. Crossing our fingers for a main floor. If any of you know of good places that won't break the bank let me know. :)

On the brighter side...

The Voice has started!

My mom and I went daring and put a cute striped wall in the bathroom.

Steph, Spencer, my mom and I went to the Mika concert.
